Room One's Superblog - ANS 2019

Every Friday Room 1 meets up with Room 4 to do some buddy reading. It's a time that we look forward to every week. It's a great opportunity for the children to get together and enjoy sharing books with one another. Check out the smiling faces!                

 On Thursday morning we had a gorgeous visitor to Room 1 - the fabulous Atticus - the coolest bulldog ever! He seemed to love meeting all of the kids and showing off his clever tricks (bribed with food!) and we certainly loved him. Huge thanks to his human family, Ruby and Sarah, for bringing him in to see us... Maybe he could come back in to hear some kids reading some day soon?

Last week Room 1 spent time learning how to post our work on Seesaw. All children in Room 1 have a Seesaw portfolio that they can store their work on and share it with their whanau. Here are some examples of work posted this week. This is only a small sample of the learning we have undertaken in the first 3 weeks! What a hard-working class... :)

It feels great to be back in Room 1 again getting to know the awesome kids we have this year. We welcome in two wonderful new Year 5 boys - Johntee and JayJay. We say a sad farewell to Semisi, Lochlan (and soon Wendy) who have left Netherby School and wish them all the best in their new schools, towns and countries! We have had a really busy and hot first week back. Our favourite activity was having a Water Fun afternoon on Thursday - water fights, water slides, playing with glitter water and running through sprinklers.
